Third-party funded projects

Research at the tfm | Department for Theater, Film and Media Studies takes many forms. In addition to the academic amplificationsof all fields necessary for research-led teaching, the tfm promotes a variety of research foci in projects supported by third-party funds, which contribute to a systematic development of the broad research area of theater, film and media studies. Since the university's autonomy through the UG2002, the tfm has fulfilled its responsibility in the area of third-party funded research and has implemented large and long-term projects in all subject areas, both in historical and theoretical dimensions. Over the last ten years, the tfm has been particularly successful in the area of career-supporting third-party funding acquisition: numerous Doc scholarships from the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) as well as Firnberg and Elise Richter positions from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) have been and currently are located at the department.
